I recently bought a 1969 Firebird.  The 400 engine was rebuilt br a former owner for bracket racing.  The valve covers are finned aluminum Edelbrocks which are taller than the originals. I haven't looked to see if it has rocker rollers that require the taller valve covers.  It has manual brakes and I am in the process of converting it to power brakes.  I was able to get a booster from a 1968.  In bolting it in, I found the booster hits on the valve cover.  My neighbor's stock 1968 has about 1/2 inch of clearance between the booster and the stock valve covers.  Does anyone have suggestions on what to do next?

Change valve covers? I went back and looked at all 1st generation open hood pics I have and don't see one with power brakes and tall valve covers.
