Hi Folks!

I have loved and admired the 1st gen. Firebirds since I was a kid. I am finally thinking about buying one so that my young son can experience what  a "real" muscle car is all about.

My big question is this:  What are the main differences between the 67 and 68 models? They look so similar to me (except for the window vent in the 67). Were there any improvements in the 68 that would make it a better choice or would the 67 be just as good? Is one a better "driver" than the other?

Thanks for your advice!

well i would say the 68 would be a better choice for a few reasons
1 1967 firebirds came stock with only a 326 engine
2 1968 firebirds came with a 350 or a 400 engine
3 1968 has a more agressive look especialy with the 400 and hood scoops
but it is all in what you desire the most. don't let someone else make up your mind
get all the facts on both cars before you purchase one and you will be very happy with your choice
and you are most welcome

I have to agree with the 68. They also had the option of multi leaf rear springs for a better suspension.

if the the 67 you find is a HO 326 take it. it was made for only one year and put out just under 290 horse. the 350 and 400 of the 67 are pretty much identical to the ones of the 68 with the exception of slightly higher compression.
