I was wondering if anyone could help me out.  We have a 1985 firebird with a 2.8 litre v-6.  It has a 5 Speed standard trany.  What we want to know is can we just straight up and bolt in a 305 with this trans or do we have to swap parts?  Bell housing, clutch and pressure plate, stuff like that?  Thanks in advance.  All input is greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but a 2.8 has a different bellhousing bolt pattern so that will definately need to be changed. As for the clutch etc, they are different also. V-8's use a 10.4" clutch verses the 9 1/8" on the 2.8. As for the "hydraulics" I believe they are the same.
