DOH!! I originally posted this in the for sale forum..
Hello,
First post here so bear with me. I have a friend who drives a 1971 Firebird. It's an automatic with the 5/7 liter 350(right before emmissions were introduced). He just picked it up and it has 45,000 original miles on it. The radiator seems to have been replaced along with waterpump, belts, hoses etc.etc. My question to you is- Is there a catch can for the antifreeze. It seems that everytime he parks the car it spews a lil from the overflow tube. Could this be related to too small of a radiator (2 core), cap pressure limits, or a failing system??? Or is this normal? Did the radiators stock, come with 3 and 4 core out of the box back then? I'd assume so. Thanks in advance, Tim.
