Author Topic: 1967 Firebird Tire Help  (Read 1630 times)

Hi,
I have a 1967 Firebird Convert.   Suspsenion is currently stock and currently ride on BFG 205/70/14 all around.

I am installing some old AR Torq Thrust 15 X 7 rims and am trying to decide what tires to mount.

Right now I am considering some BFGoodrich TA Radials 255/60/15 and 235/60/15 or some Dunlop Sport 8000 245/50/15 and 225/50/15.

I was thinking of an old muscle car look with the old BFG Radial TA 50s but they don't make the tire any more.  It seems that everything is going to 16" and up.
I think the 60 series tires may look too much like balloons.
I like the looks of the 50 series tires but am a little concerned that they will not fill the wheel well and I'll be left with a large gap between tire and fender.  Then I'll have to invest in lowering the suspension to get the "right" look.

Anyone that has comments and/or experience, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Rick
