Help With Pete Jackson Gear Drive Install

when you are setting up the gear drive , the instructions say to set up the timing
so no. 6 fires instead of no 1 just want to know, has any one installed this set up
and why does the gear drive not get set up at top dead center, is this because
of the dual idler gears? any info would nice thanks, timmyboy
